Ann Marie Drury is an Illustrator based in Eastern Connecticut

It all began with being read to as a child. I fell in love with the stories inside the pages of picture books. PJ Funny Bunny and The Stinky Cheese Man became friends and inspiration. After winning an award in third grade for my interpretation of The Three Little Pigs, I felt the need to illustrate (and eventually write) picture books. My style has evolved into whimsical, texture filled illustrations. I work mostly digital but always start on paper. There is just something about pencil and paper that I can not kick. I would love to create books that infuse mindfulness and diversity. I attended the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, ultimately receiving my BFA in Illustration from Central Connecticut State University. I’ve worked at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art for five years where I began telling stories of art and artists while providing tours for people of all ages. I have maintained consistent freelance illustration jobs working with small businesses and individuals. I live in Connecticut with my husband, two sons, one fluffy dog, and a cat named Pablo.
